Silver creek...

the old ice house on the property

I can remember going to at least one Easter picnic out there.
Kids playing in the creek...stomping through it and
swinging on a rope....running all over the hills...
Almost TOO much food....

THE ride.....waiting for John's pictures....

I was wondering WHY 3,000 people would ride their bicycle 100 miles....all the way around Lake Tahoe!!!!!........., so I researched it on google and here is what I found out....

On June 7, 2009....3,000+ bicycling enthusiasts from all over the country participated in the 18th annual "America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride" around Lake Tahoe. This fun ride is not a race, but a tour and promotes the Lake Tahoe Bikeway project.

The ride is also the culmination of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's spring Team In Training (TNT) Cycle 100 national fund raising program where 1750 participants from 63 chapters and branches are participating and expect to raise over $6.8 million dollars.
this looks like a vintage poster photo...
look at the road and the
head gear of the spectators!!!!

we LOVE our garden...

the rambling roses are a source of great joy.
This is a bench someone made out of an old single bed...
I bought 2 of them at a yard sale.
It is beat up and beautiful and George wants to paint it,
but NO, I love it the way it is!!!!

click on all pictures to make them larger...
especially the butterfly bush and the rose bank

this arrangement always makes a good photo..petunias and begonias.

a sweet lobelia peeping up between the cracks in the patio

the bank of rambling roses...
there are also ferns, azaleas, rhododrendron, hosta, iris, lobelia, lantana
and much more for year round bloom.
This is the bank the kids built for us on our 25th anniversary..
we had a 3 day camp out and so much fun...never to be forgotten!!!!

this photo does not do justice to our beautiful butterfly bush
which is fast becoming a tree
and our many rose bushes in that section of the garden
along with our Blessed Mother statue.

hanging over the fence between neighbors.

we LOVE our garden!!!!!!

a gorgeous day...

it is so beautiful today I had to get out and walk in the garden. The rambling roses are still blooming their heads off all over the garden. What a show they put on!!!
George can't do a thing for 2 more days and then maybe walk for about 10 minutes. It is tough because he feels so well. He always amazes me with his endurance and strength!!!
The 2 weeks of being a couch potato are going to be tough!!!

your Dad

"iron man" or "bionic man" is on his way home as we speak...8:45 a.m. Friday.

I am thinking of Robbie and Michael and what they are doing...they are 9
hours ahead of us...so might just be getting ready to eat dinner!!!!!
They had an extensive walking tour today...Elizabeth gave me their
itinerary.

And thinking of Cathleen and her friend enjoying the cabin...so peaceful.

Dad's angiogram....

As we speak we are leaving for the hospital
The angiogram will be done at 6:30 a.m.
Elizabeth is going with us.

12:12 p.m.
Wonderful people over at Kaiser Santa Clara. What a huge hospital and so immaculate. The doctor had the reputation of being a great surgeon. Elizabeth and I must have talked solid for the 4 hours we waited....she is so wonderful to be with....a great comfort. When the surgeon found us in the waiting room he told us about the 3 stints and gave us preliminary orders for his care...the first thing he started off with was "he can't do dishes for 6 months" while I groaned, but he quickly said he was kidding and told us that Dad couldn't do anything for 4 days, then a couch potato for 2 weeks...and no walking on the ramps til he had a doctor visit. (2 weeks)

Dad was looking a a little drowsy when we left but making jokes like he usually does. Robert stopped by after work to see him and stayed almost 2 hours, bless his heart, and Bobby went by that evening....must have played cards.
