We're going to pass a health care plan written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it; passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it; signed by a president that also hasn't read it, and who smokes; with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes; overseen by a surgeon general who is obese; and financed by a country that's nearly broke.

Dancing...

We danced for over 20 years....first ball room, then square dancing and round dancing. We learned to ballroom dance at the Elk's club here in San Jose....started square dancing with Ken and Audrey Oburn (Audrey is alive and still square dancing!!!) and round dancing with Clark and Mackie Smith (both gone)......we danced our way up to the Golden Slippers!!!

This week Cynthia put on this little Utube movie "Double your pleasure" a cute jitterbug number.

Here we are at Asilomar at a square dance festival. Danced with some great people, Canadians, wonderful dancers and lots of fun. I think I was on the verge of getting Mononucleosis about that time. One of the guys, as a hobby, diagnosed illnesses by manipulating your feet and he told me I had something wrong with my liver!!! By golly, I did...within a month I was terribly ill with mono!!!!

Follow up on "win"...

YES! Also, I thought it was interesting how the newspaper "interpreted" this as just a "Not In My neighborhood" stance. It was an easy "conclusion" for them to print. Shabby and disappointing. But bottom line, the city heard you all and had to listen.

Am a tad jaded, but know there are people in the planning department that actually try and have good relations with the public. Still, it's all about $$, and your combined efforts were a loud enough voice to curb the ridiculous proposal. xo! Cathleen

congratulations! I'm convinced that the city council members would have gotten some kind of special benefit (like increased chance of re-election)

if the measure had passed, and there was no chance that they were unbiased or completely objective about it.

And as I said, it wasn't going to be built in any of THEIR backyards, so they were all for it.

moving closets...

Tom has rebuilt the closet in the office so I can start moving the office stuff from the front bedroom, after a little touch up paint on the supports. It has been way too many years of having office supplies in the next room. Clothes have already been moved.new off white 2 drawer file cabinet
