Chef Roberto...

Bobby invited us over for dinner Sunday night. He cooked up a gourmet meal......pork and noodles and asparagus. Very delicious. We all had seconds!!

Because of daylight savings time we got there a little early or was it late??? While Bob was cooking I had a chance to take some photos of his yard and house...looking good!!

Short and sweet...hustled on our way..in spite of daylight savings.....to beat the sunset and just made it. Didn't even take time for a cribbage game!!!

new truck and more...

Santa gave Daniel and Matthew new trucks for Christmas but they were too small so we sent them back and got the new shiny yellow ones....well it was too big for Matthew so he will have to be content with the old red one he is sitting on.

Friday special....

Annette got here first.....Elizabeth brought lunch and her kids except Robbie. Luscious egg salad sandwiches that squish out the sides....
We had enough for dinner plus her extra special veggie soup. yum yum

Our house is clean thanks to Maria...a new cleaning lady, and sheets changed thanks to Annette and Elizabeth. Clean is GOOD.

pedicures...

...and the works. Mary and I went down to Focus and had the whole shebang. I had my hair done and Mary had a pedicure supreme, complete with hot rocks and massage. We both had manicures by a really sweet, gentle girl....and me a simple pedicure...no frills. Mary had leaves put on her toes!!!!

Dad took care of Qtip and we caved in when Mary asked if she could run some more errands. So we took our daily walk with a cute little dog running around in circles. He loves the big lawn in back!!!

he is such a sweet dog...so friendly...and has such a good buddy in Grandpa!!!

Popeye's

I keep seeing these ads on television about Popeye's.

The popcorn shrimp looked so delicious that we went down today...2nd street and Santa Clara and Dad dropped me off and I went in and ordered while he drove around the block.
When my order was ready the guy told me there was a parking lot behind the building. Oh Well...it was great to see downtown...has been a long time since we cruised around.

Yesterday we changed our Insurance company...finally. We should save a couple of thousand!!!!

Sunday visit....

Dan came by with the 3 boys for a visit.

Had lunch and the kids played outside.

Dad and Dan and Matthew went to OSH.
Bought a new flag.

my birthday continues....

It was great of Elizabeth to drive us over to the beach...Martin and Julie, Dad and I . I had been hankering to stay at the beach for a few days for my birthday....so this was the next best thing!!!

We took sandwiches and drinks and headed for the Santa Cruz pier for some of those yummy french fries...way out at the last place where we always go.

We had seagulls begging for our food...the wind blew us apart...(fortunately we all had hooded sweatshirts), but the sky and ocean were magnificent. Couldn't ask for a more beautiful day .

We drove down to Seabright to look at a house right on the beach that Dad and I have been considering for years....to find a place for a spring time beach trip. What a disappointment ...but after the Wright's place anything would be!!!!

So now my birthday is officially over!!!!!!

Friday is girls day....

Annette made croissant sandwiches for lunch.......yum
Elizabeth, Robbie, Michael, Martin and Julie...Dad and I.
Nice to chat and have the boys play cribbage with Dad.
Annette combed out my hair and the boys FINALLY put away the Christmas stuff.

nuclear powered....

Today we went to Kaiser for yet another test on Dad's heart. There at 10:15 a.m. where he got the high powered injection to simulate running on the treadmill. whooooo.




We then had breakfast/brunch in the cafeteria and had to hang around til 12:30 p.m. when they did the nuclear part. We called John and he had a moment so ran over to see us where we were waiting in the lobby....a short visit as we both had to go...John to a meeting and Dad for the rest of the test.

We were out of there and on our way by 1:30 p.m.....even though it was 3 hours at least we were BOTH going home. We stopped on our way for a caramel sundae at MacDonalds....me driving as the proceedure knocked Dad out!!!!

John called later and said everything looked good.

checking up...

Dad went to see the heart specialist today....this year he had been taking a new medicine for the weird feeling he got a few times when he walked up the ramps..they thought it was angina. But this new med made him have all sorts of goofy symptoms. His main doc had prescribed sublingual nitroglycerine last year for an episode for the same feeling. This year his cardiologist gave him daily doses......and that is what did him in, we think. He is much better now that he discontinued the meds, but he is scheduled for a nuclear test on Wednesday. Our Byonic now nuclear Dad!!!!!
