our new adventure begins.....

We did it!!!!!

We are now owners of a 29 foot 1998 Mallard trailer which will be parked on space 189 at TT Morgan Hill camp ground....right under a tree which will give us shade from the afternoon sun. We have a wood deck, a bbq, and table and benches. Television and antenna, air conditioning and heater. We are buying a storage unit for outside stuff, tools and foldup bike. They are leaving all the kitchen equipment for us......pots and pans dishes and utensils.
We are moving in Friday, Oct 1.

We have learned these things:
1. Any family member can stay in the trailer without us being there as long as they sign in at the entry station....I think up to 14 days at a time.
2. We can plant a lawn and shubs and even a tree as long as we water and take care of them.
3. We can have as many as 10 (ten) people stay with us at one
time for 14 days at a time.
4. We can put up a tent on our property.
5. We can put up awnings or a tent room.
6. The space we have isn't very big but not in a week end rental area so less busy. Spaces are side by side with planting strips in between.
7.
Guests can bring dogs on leash and overnight.
Elsewhere on the property they have for rent the cutest wood cabins (2 of them).......the cabins are more expensive than trailers, but very popular~~~(TT through us...... if you let us know ahead of time) for our guests...sign up early.........they are phasing out the rental trailers, but will have 3 or 4 still available next year.

This is one of the ADVENTURES of our life and we are having fun!!!!!

Our 62nd aniversary

A Fun Anniversary!!!

Who would have thought that 9 people crammed in a 31 foot trailer would work??? Weather was nice, the company excellent.

The trailer was surprisingly roomy with a bunk bed in the back and a queen size in the other end and a pop out for the couch...also the table made into a bed.

We even found a spot for Mary to sleep on Saturday night!!!

Saturday was swim time and after naps the party began and Mary and Bob arrived with Q tip. Later John showed up with Holly.

Everyone played cribbage, rummicube, , went over to the club house and played pool and to the arcade and country store and Julie played in the kids room for a while.

Marie was a real jewel...organized the trailer putting stuff away....prepared all the meals, cleaned up and took care of Julie. What would we have done without her!!!!

Annette made the delicious apple pie and Elizabeth planned all our meals, shopped and had everything was so organized it was so easy to heat it up and eat!!!

Dad and Elizabeth's family brought flowers, Bob brought gorgeous roses. Mary, John and family gave us a Kindle electronic book.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

pictures by Mary...I can't figure out how to get mine off
our new cell phone...forgot my camera!!!!

reading...

Just finished Laura Bush's new book "Spoken from the Heart". She is a lovely, tender, talented, and compassionate person and a loyal loving wife. She is amazing in her ability to forgive her enemies.

I don't know how they endured the vicious vitriolic diatribe from Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and still invited them to White House functions. Pelosi and Reid really did start the "Bash Bush"
movement with the Democrats and the press.

In the recent election years it has been proven that George Bush
was right to invade Iraq and get rid of Saddam Hussein. Saddam did have "yellow cakes"
a form of raw uraium which recently was sold to Canada.

Only history will recognize the greatness of this Presidential couple!!

Leadership by Design..

Faculty member Mary Fortune, service-learning director Mary D’Alleva, and two students came together to develop student leadership positions that support RECR 4502: Special Event Planning -- a service-learning course where enrolled students develop a “Leadership By Design” Summer Day Camp for at-risk high school students. Student leaders are involved in all stages of the project. Some of their responsibilities include: designing camp activities for youth, conducting outreach to other student organizations, recruiting and training other students to serve as camp volunteers, securing funds, recruiting youth participants, and organizing logistics such as housing, food and meeting locations. After a successful Leadership By Design Summer Camp in August of 2010, the team is now focusing on how sustain the camp and build a leadership institute for students. Future plans are to improve, sustain and replicate this model to other service-learning courses.

late swimming..

Danny picked up his boys from school and brought them over for a late swim. Daniel jumping around, diving, underwater, sideways, upside down, and every which way....loves the water. While Matthew is still a little bit cautious.

A nice supper outside on the patio with the new light and fan going....very good taco's. Daniel recited all his prayer( that he seems to have learned since the beach in August... the Our father, Hail Mary, Glory be, Hail Holy Queen and Grace.) Amazing how quick he is to learn. Credits to his Dad..good job!!!
