a senior haircut...

Today at 10 a.m. we went down to the Willow Glen senior citizen center where Dad got a really good haircut...volunteer donation. $3.00 It looks great, and better than I do anytime!! I'm all for not having to stand and cut his hair anymore....too painful to stand up.

We took magazines to leave and I went to the lounge and played solataire on the computer and while I was waiting, looked at a senior moment scrapbook, and had a breakfast roll. We were back home by 11 a.m.

Happy birthday to me....

Many years ago we celebrated a Mother's day at breakfast in Santa Cruz and a visit to the Mystery spot, where this picture was taken.

Oh. to roll back the years and look this young again!!! (I just gave away the pink jacket the other week, finally realizing that it would never fit now....but the earrings I still wear!!)

I hope that all of you realize the preciousness of your years....each one is a special gem to be cherished, it will never be replaced.

years ago....

usOn or around my birthday every year we would all go to the Garden City BBshop quartet annual presentation. We loved it.
In 1999 my darling husband gave me a special valentine!!!

2/13/99

At 7 p.m. Friday night 4 very nattily dressed men showed up on our doorstep for a special singing valentine for me, from your Dad. They of course were from the Garden City Chorus.

Was I ever pleased. I recognized two of the fellows as actors in the "Dial M for Music...the lead detective...Mike Mallett and his girlfriend...listed as a "special guest" the silly guy dressed like an ugly girl. Their quartet was called the Town Square Harmonizers and what a beautiful job they did.

They stood in front of us in the living room and sang,
Let me call you sweetheart
I love you truly
Red Hot Mama (the one they did during the show last Saturday)

They had beautiful harmony and I told them they made my ears reverberate...they knew what I meant. Much better up close.
There was a gal with them who took a lot of pictures and they gave me a bouquet of flowers and a nice valentine card from Dad.

We were so enthusiastic and pleased and after we told them we had been listening to them for 8 years and had brought 36 people to hear them last Saturday, they didn't charge us a dime. Acted like we did THEM a favor!!!
We loved it.

Wish you could have ALL been here to hear them!!!
