not for the queamish....

no I didn't punch him...

what a shiner!!!!!

I was amazed at this surgery...I watched Dr. Smith perform it to perfection.
How he drew on his skin cut then stretched and sewed  to cover that huge hole.

He started out by inflating the tumor with fluid, then drew around it with a pen......and cut the center out
the dark is where he cauterized the bleeders.  Dad slept through it all.
I put the pictures in this order because this last photo was so shocking!!!!
to me anyway and I saw it in real life.

i love my Kindle...

I am always amazed at the wonderful books I have read since I have been a Kindle owner (thanks to son John).  So many to recommend.

I just finished the book "Oregon Country" by T.J. Hansen historical fiction about the 1843 Oregon migration.....a wonderful book that takes you right along with them.

Before that...the great story "the Help" by Kathryn Stockett and you know the rest as you have probably seen the movie.  But you have to read the book!!

What started my interest in Historical biographies was 2 books by Elinor Pruitt Stewart...one called "Letters of a Woman Homesteader" and Letters on an Elk Hunt".....both absorbing reads.
